Moon and Stars Watermelon was introduced in the 1920s and is one of the most popular heirloom varieties of watermelon. It was named after the unique coloration pattern that includes a dark green skin with many small and large yellow spots that resemble moons and stars. Fruits are round to slightly oblong and will average 25 lbs, but can get as large as 40 lbs in some cases. Moon and Stars Watermelon fruits have a bright red center with exceptional sweet watermelon flavor. 

Planting Instructions

Germination - 3-10 days

Days to Maturity - 80-90 days

Plant Spacing - 24-36 inches

Sowing Options: Start indoors 2-4 weeks before last frost date

 Recommendations: Direct sow after last frost date
