Hidalgo Serrano Hot Pepper

$0.00

From Hudson Valley Seed Company. Purchased in 2023.

Description and growing instructions below from Hudson Valley Seeds.

Add fresh heat with this fiery pepper.

Serrano is a great hot pepper with punchy heat. A great pepper for use raw in fresh salads, salsas and sauces. They also make a great pickled pepper. Plants can get large and weighed down with fruit, stake to keep branches in place and fruits off the ground. Serranos are usually picked green, but are also good when allowed to ripen red.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS.

Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost in very warm spot (80 degrees is ideal). Keep seedlings in a well-ventilated place at 70+ degrees and do not over water. Transplant outdoors in full sun into rich, well drained soil after threat of frost has passed. Peppers can tolerate dryness and heat, but need moderate water to produce fruit and prefer to be watered at the base.
