Leta Selmanović

Community Chef Educator

Leta Selmanović (she/her) is a food artist, activist, and educator born and raised in New York with Balkan roots. With a Master’s in Food Cultures from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy, she works at the intersection of urban agriculture, food justice, and community education. As a grower, forager, beekeeper, and cook, she seeks to co-create experiences that invite people into deeper relationships with our urban ecological landscape. Leta sees cooking as a form of care, creativity, and storytelling. Her work has spanned farm-to-table kitchens in Italy, circular food design in Amsterdam, and connecting thousands of New York City adults and youth to nature through gardening, beekeeping, and cooking. She treats food as a medium for connection, memory, and transformation.
