Meet Your Maker – Dinner with Three of Brooklyn’s Most Notable Chefs!
A Fundraiser for The Youth Farm at the High School for Public Service

Thursday, November 6th at 61 Local Public House in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

The Youth Farm at the High School for Public Service will host an intimate evening featuring Rob Newton of Nightingale 9, Zahara Tangorra of Brucie, and Andres Valbuena of Martha along with a cheese tasting from Consider Bardwell Farm and local wine and beer from 61 Local!

The chefs will each prepare tastes using seasonal ingredients from the Youth Farm, paired with local beer and wine, with pairing advice from Kris de la Torre.

Meet Your Maker will raise money for farm-based educational programming at the Youth Farm, enabling hundreds of students to learn about everything from food justice to environmental science on the farm.

Harlem Green: 9th Annual Community Garden Tour on 8/30

10 am to 5 pm, free!

Harlem’s community gardeners invite you to tour beautiful, historic community gardens.

Th e tour swill start at 10 am with a sumptuous breakfast at the J.D. Wilson Garden at 219 W. 122nd Street and end at 5 pm with a traditional Harlem Barbecue at the William A. Harris Garden at 153rd Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.

Visitors will see 15 lush oases with verdant flora and fauna, rainwater harvesting systems, solar pond aeration and lighting, vertical gardening, bee hives, gazebos, established fruit trees, abundant herbs, vegetables, extensive composting systems, and more.

Attendees are encouraged to bicycle or walk the tour. However, thanks to the NYC Parks Department, a bus will be available. Sponsors for the event include GreenThumb and NYC Parks, Harlem Gardens, The William A. Harris Garden, the NYC Community Garden Coalition, and Project Harmony.

Youth Farm Market Open Every Wednesday in Brooklyn

Spend Saturday (6/21) at Hope Steven Garden in Harlem

Saturday, June 21st – Enjoy a  joint celebration of Make Music New York and the Hamilton Heights-Sugar Hill Cultural Festival at Hope Steven Garden on W. 142nd Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Hamilton Place.

Make Music New York – musical performances from 2 pm to 8 pm

Hamilton Heights-Sugar Hill Cultural Festival – a celebration of art, dance, music and community from 11 am to 5 pm.
