Spend Saturday (6/21) at Hope Steven Garden in Harlem

Saturday, June 21st – Enjoy a  joint celebration of Make Music New York and the Hamilton Heights-Sugar Hill Cultural Festival at Hope Steven Garden on W. 142nd Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Hamilton Place.

Make Music New York – musical performances from 2 pm to 8 pm

Hamilton Heights-Sugar Hill Cultural Festival – a celebration of art, dance, music and community from 11 am to 5 pm.

Green Guerillas Summer AmeriCorps Position Available

Interested in supporting community gardeners and pitching in at urban agriculture projects and community farmers markets in NYC? Engage in a summer of service with Green Guerillas! This position will focus on helping community and urban school gardens in central Brooklyn grow more food and engage their communities, especially youth.

This full-time opportunity will run from May 27th through August 5th. The summer associate will receive a monthly stipend of $1276 and receive an education award upon successful completion of the term of service.

MLT and Carver Community Garden need our support!

The Manhattan Land Trust and Carver Community Garden of East Harlem are in the running to receive a generous grant from Seeds of Change.

The grant will help MLT and the gardeners of Carver create an urban teaching farm where community members will gain hands-on experience with gardening, healthy food and nutrition, and environmental stewardship.
