Green Guerillas spent the rainy spring distributing thousands of vegetable seedlings, herbs, and flowers to community gardeners in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Harlem, East Harlem and several neighborhoods in the Bronx. Community garden beds will soon be overflowing with tomatoes, basil, collards, peppers, and thyme.
Green Guerillas partnered with American Eagle Outfitters to help the gardeners at the big, beautiful Phoenix Community Garden spruce up their the garden this spring. A group of AEO employees planted up vertical planters, spread wood chips, and helped get the garden ready for the growing season.
As GreenThumb gets ready to re-license community gardens in 2019, they have announced a new requirement: community garden groups must have bylaws before they can become re-licensed.
