Become a member of Green Guerillas by making a donation

Please join today. You will support our work and we will send you invitations to community garden events, invite you to garden workdays, and welcome you to our annual meeting.

Members also receive discounts at a number of retailers and a subscription to our newsletter, Vitis Vine.

Our members are people from all walks of life --gardeners, teachers, students, artists, lawyers, businesspeople, and activists -- who all care about New York City and want to support our efforts to cultivate community and improve the urban environment.

To join a community garden
Green Guerillas does not own or manage community gardens and we do not place volunteers in gardens. New York City’s community gardens are all cultivated and managed by independent groups of volunteers. To join a garden you simply need to locate one and talk to the gardeners when the gates are open. There is no standard set of guidelines for garden membership. Like the plants in the garden, each group has its own unique structure.

GreenThumb can also help you link directly with a community garden group that needs volunteers. Contact GreenThumb at 212.788.8070 or click here.

dig in at a garden workday
During the growing season, Green Guerillas sets up workdays at community garden sites. Sign up for our e-mail list and we will be sure to send you invitations.

donate a skill
If you have a skill you would like to donate: Are you a master composter? Can you design newsletters or logos? Are you an event planner? If you have a skill you would like to make available to community gardeners in New York City, please send an email to info@nycgreen.org detailing the skill you would like to donate, and we will try to match you with a grassroots group who needs your help.

pitch in at green guerillas office
To volunteer at Green Guerillas:  We tap the time, talent, and energy of people who want to pitch in to help Green Guerillas successfully serve New York City’s community gardeners. If you are interested in volunteering at our office or are interested in an unpaid internship with GGs, please send a cover letter and resume to info@nycgreen.org.
